Protecting media freedom

We advise governments and media on the role of regulators to help ensure balance between freedom of expression and legislation. We also do promoting ethical standards within journalism are at the heart of everything we do.

Through our training and conferences we have been instrumental in raising standards and in creating press councils and mentoring media regulators.

We have a close relationship with other journalists association and networks including the National Union of Somali Journalists (NUSOJ), Human Rights Journalists (HRJ) women journalists associations, regional press organizations and the Federation of Somali Journalists (FESOJ) just to share development issues and the ideas related to press freedom activities in across Somalia.
