Science Journalism Café: Plant Health and the Antibacterial uses of Honey and Ginger

On Thursday April 20, 2023. SOMESHAA was organized agri-food science research program that holds at Salaam University laboratory center in Mogadishu, where various leaders from local and international media organizations come together on zoom and virtual gathering and as well as science and agricultural scientists from various gathered institutions were also present.

Salaam university students and fellow scientists made a tremendous contribution and had the coordination and the presentations of several researches done by the students of the Faculty of Agriculture and Health science at Salaam University.

These discussions presented in scientific studies such as plant health and the antibacterial uses of honey and ginger. Researchers discussed their research on plant health and the antibacterial uses of honey and ginger. The discussion will also explore resilient agricultural systems in drought seasons.

Some Professors of the university said that this research will be done in the field of technological Innovations knowledge, and it will be used to connect the public and private partnership, which is important for cooperation between the two sides.

SOMESHA programs coordinator Mr. Barre Ali Rage who opened the program said that they will continue to work on programs related to the development of the environment, agriculture, health science and related matters, and they will work with Salaam University in collaboration with international organizations.

The Science Journalism zoom and virtual event was powered by the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists (IFAJ) and the World Federation of Science Journalists (WFSJ), Federation of Eastafrican Agricultural Journalists advancement (FEAJA)  as well as the World Federation of Environmental and Intercultural Journalists (WOFEJ).
