Somalia: Warring sides should prevent farming zones

The Somali Media for Environment, Science, Health and Agriculture (SOMESHA) is cadrely concerned the ongoing war and violence against unprotected farming zones and in the whole agricultural area in across Somalia in particularly middle Shabelle region of Somalia.

The Islamist group of Shabab fighters attacked two military bases in middle Shabelle region belonging to the Somali National Army early on Saturday April 3, 2021 with lots reportedly killed and others wounded.

 SOMESHA Secretary General H. E. Rev. Daud Abdi Daud sends a message to the warring sides and calls to stop the war which damages the fertile region and causes loss and damage to the products.

Somalia has dealt with huge renewed droughts and floods since 1990 though crops remain the main sources of economic activity, employment, and exports in Somalia.
